UPDATE
These plans were approved and work is well under-way to refurbish the upper part of the site. We are expecting serveral top name retailers to move into the park in the next few months.

Plans have been submitted for an upgrade to the current Battery Retail Park and Former B&Q unit. These plans will include additional retail space through the addition of mezzanine floors, revised service access to the B&Q and Homebase units, and revised pedestrian access between B&Q and the rest of the site. There is also a proposed pedestrian link between B&Q and the Battery Site. As part of the plans Homebase will have to relocate as its unit is to be split into smaller sections.

We broadly welcome the plans but are concerned that the revised service access will place additional strain on the B&Q entrance from Chapel Lane which is a difficult access point for HGV's.  We are disappointed that the plans do not make more use of the Bristol Rd frontage and that more reference is not made to the Battery Site.
